italian permission is valid in Spain? Please help
« en: 06 de Julio de 2009, 12:35:29 pm »
Goodmorning,

I'm newer of this forum. Let me indroduce myself first.

I'm italian with a italina permission for spearfishing (pesca pulmon libres, I think is the right word).

The next 10th of July I'll be in MORAIRA (ALICANTE) for holydays and just for a week.

I'd like to know if I can go spearfishing using my italian permission oa I need to go somewhere ( Capitanera de Puerto, or somethng like that) shows my permission and have  atemporary permission valid in Spain to practice the pesca a pulmon libre in MORAIRA.

I've called the CONSEJERIA DE PESCA in ALICANTE and they told me I'll have to do a lot of things to ask for a permission but I'll be just for a week in Spain.

So someone of you know if it is simply need to show my italian permission to someone in MORAIRA (or around) to get e temporary permission for sperfishing?

Please help me as it is urgent.

Thank you in advance.

Hello fabio, I think you have to do lots of paper to get the licence in spain, exactly the same we have to do jeje. I don't really know if it's possible to do it in an easy way, anyway I'll ask for it. Good look and welcome.

If you are going to stay only one week I would take the risk and I would dive without permission. I've been doing spearfishing for more than 20 years and I've never been stoped by the police.  ;)

In the Mediterranean -out of any problematic area- you have little chance of being stopped.

Hi All,

thank you for your suggestion.

There's an italian way of saying that sounds like this:

" If there's any lower possibility that one think happens it will happen for sure.." and I'd avoid this.

But it is really strange to ask for a temporary permission without asking for a definitive one? I can't believe it....

Where are you going to do spearfishing?
In Galicia (the northwest) there is a temporary license for tourists.
In any case to obtain a valid license you should obtain a spanish medical certificate, pay tax and try to convince issuer that you are covered by the FIPSAS license in case of accident.

Hello, You must call this phone number. This is the FASCV (Federation of Underwater Activities Valencia) (Castellon, Valencia and Alicante). They will help you solve your problems or opportunities for fishing in Moraira.

Good luck.

I think that with your Italian paperwork and in summer you have a very good excuse in case of you encounter "carabinieri". But.
HEre i spain we have a spearfishing license and a federation card for insurance purpouses. The federation card i would try to make them accept that your CMAS card is valid here and you only need the spearfishing license. CMAS can extend (in italy and in spanish if you provide them with the correct text) a certificate you can use just to get your spearfishing license in "Capitanía del porto". We have done it in the past for some countries.

I'm going to MORAIRA (ALICANTE).

Hi Alla,

thank you very much for your interest.

I've the CMAS card as well.

So if I got properly.

When in ALICANTE I shall go to Capiteria de Peurto, shows my CMAS card and I'l get the temporary permission for sperafish. Isn't it?

P.S. Thank you for the phone number given.

Not exactly.

1.- Go to your local FIPSAS delegate. Ask him to give you a paper that certifies that you are insured to do spearfishing in spain based in your insurance agreement the same than you are insured in Italian as owner of FIPSAS card. We have used these certificate to fish in some countries. You should obtain it free, the same than you obtain a valid car insurance certificate -the green card- from your italian car insurance company if you bring your car to spain.
2.- Use that insurance certificate to obtain "permiso de pesca" in Capitania del porto. If this certificate have the right sentences in spanish (copy it) you should have no problem at capitania.

"El poseedor de la licencia federativa FIPSAS numero XXXX, sr Fabio Antonnini, esta cubierto por un seguro de cobertura civil contra los accidentes que pudiesen suceder por la practica de la pesca submarina a pulmon libre en España".

Your best and cheap bet is that.

And you have another paper that says that you are insured in Spain if somebody checks it.

THANK YOU!

I've requested the certificate to FIPSAS hoping they will release it in  a short time.

Also I've called the FSCV and they will send my (in spanish, unfortunately, but I'll try to read it the same as it is no so different from italian) an e-mail with the explanation of the steps to be made there.
